What options does Metro have for online learning for adults?

Authors list

Metro offers a variety of online learning courses from two different course providers: Ed2Go and UGotClass. Each provider offers different learning modalities as described below.

Ed2go offers courses with two learning modalities, instructor led and self-paced. Instructor led courses are for students who prefer a structured learning pace with instructor guidance. Courses feature an instructor-moderated discussion board, so the student can interact with the session cohort. Important: Instructor led is not a face-to-face online meeting with an instructor teaching in real-time or recorded time. Lessons are gated and released biweekly on Wednesdays and Fridays. Course access is approximately 6 weeks and the estimated time commitment for completion is 24 hours. Self-paced courses are for students who prefer to learn at their own pace and are comfortable with self-guidance. Students gain access to all course material, quizzes and the final exam at the time of enrollment. Course access is 3 months and the estimated time commitment for completion is 24 hours.

UGotClass offers courses with one style of learning: Instructor led. There are no live real-time requirements or meetings, rather you will access online readings, listen to an audio presentation for the unit and view slides, take a self-quiz to see how much you have learned and engage in written online discussion/chat with your instructor and other participants. The online classroom is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and course content and self-quizzes are accessible for the entire course, so you can work ahead or go back and review. Estimated time commitment for completion: One course - 16 hours over 1 month; Certificate (3 courses) - 48 hours over 3 months.
